Support and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Primary support is offered through this website. If your issue is not addressed in the following FAQ section or to report a bug, please contact me.

What are the system requirements?
As PUC is deployed within a simple HTML file, you will need a web browser that supports JavaScript 1.1. All modern web browsers will work. For tested platforms, please see the corresponding FAQ.

What platforms have been tested?
Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 7, Pocket Internet Explorer (Pocket PC 2002), Pocket Internet Explorer (Pocket PC 2003), and Palm OS 5 (Web Browser 2.0) have been tested. However, any web browser that supports JavaScript 1.1 should work.

What JavaScript version is PUC written in?
JavaScript 1.1

How do I suggest a unit/category to add?
It is much more in the GNU spirit for you to add the unit/category into PUC. It is my request that you email me the improved version. This way, PUC can be improved quickly and everyone can benefit. If you wish, you may contact me with your unit/category suggestion, but I cannot say if I will be able to implement it for workload reasons.

How do I report a bug or make a suggestion/comment?
Please contact me.

May I modify PUC and what should I know about doing so?
Yes and you are encouraged to do so. The only restriction is compliance with the GNU GPL. It is my request that you email me the improved version. This way, PUC can be improved quickly and everyone can benefit.

What is the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL)?
The GNU GPL is a free software license. What is free software? To quote www.gnu.org, think of ‘free’ as in ‘free speech,’ not as in ‘free beer.’ To view the GNU GPL please visit http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html To find out more about GNU and Free Software Foundation (FSF), please visit www.gnu.org.
